What is a Barback?

If you're running a bar or if you have a bar in the restaurant, you already know how good barback works. They're the ones who keep your bartenders stocked so drinks are ready during a rush hour instead of keeping guests waiting.

Preparing the bar prior to service, replenishing and cleaning during service, and finishing closing responsibilities are examples of barback tasks that vary depending on the shift. Certain activities are completed every week or every two weeks, such as deep cleaning and cleaning keg lines.

The majority of bartenders begin their careers as barbacks, where they learn how the establishment operates and how to handle and serve customers.

For barbacks, pay usually depends on the hourly wage, and sometimes they are rewarded with tips. The tips are split based on the bartenders' tips, and it is divided in the right way so that barbacks are motivated, and it saves you a lot of headaches down the line.
