How Does Front-of-House Work in Restaurants?
The Front-of-House team looks after your customer experience from when the customer arrives until they leave.
This usually happens as follows:
- Guests enter and are welcomed by the host.
- Customers are seated or are guided to the ordering area.
- The waiter or waitress takes the order down and sends it through to the kitchen via the POS system.
- Food and drinks are brought to the customers.
- Staff will then respond to the customers and sort out any issues throughout the meal.
- Finally, the guests will be brought a bill; they will pay and will leave having finished their experience.
FOH team and the kitchen must work together.
