How does the price level work?

Price Level is the concept of pre-set price ranges that are automatically applicable to any menu item according to various conditions. The conditions could be any one or a combination of time of the day, place, type of customer, or any promotional offers.

A restaurant set up several price levels on its POS system. For example, the different price levels can be dine-in price level, happy hour price level, staff price level, and member price level. During checkout, the corresponding price level is selected automatically or manually by authorized staff.

The advantage of a price level system is that restaurants can maintain different price strategies dynamically, run promotions easily, and maintain the same menu price across various sales channels without altering the menu itself.
