What is a quote (catering quote)?

A catering quotation is a brief estimation by the catering business that includes details such as cost and extent of service to be done on the specified event. Within the catering quotation are those items included, such as food, beverages, staffing, equipment, delivery, and any extra services required for the event. These are usually requested for corporate events, meetings, weddings, parties, birthdays, and private events.

How the Catering Quote Works

When customers want to inquire about catering service, the restaurant will gather information on the customer's event, including but not limited to the number of guests to be served, the menu requested, where the event will be held, on what date, and the style of service requested (buffet, plated, etc.). A quote or estimate will be given to customers according to the information provided, and an estimate will be generated from the system or the catering department. The quotations can consist of such items as the price, taxes, service fees, tips, and terms and conditions (when deposits are due, cancellation fees, etc.)
