What Is a Restaurant Tech Stack?
Your tech stack is just the collection of software and tools you use to run your restaurant day-to-day. Most owners don't plan this out all at once; it builds up piece by piece as the business grows.
The tech usually starts with your POS system, since that's the main area where everything else tends to connect. From there, you're likely running online ordering, a reservation system if you take bookings, payroll and scheduling software for your staff, and some kind of accounting tool to keep your books clean and clear.
A lot of places also run inventory management software, marketing tools for email and social media, and review management to always check on Yelp and Google.
The most difficult part is making sure these things are aligned. If your online ordering doesn't sync with your POS, someone's manually entering orders twice, which wastes time and causes mistakes. If your scheduling software doesn't connect to payroll, you're doing double the admin work every pay period.
