What is Item Builder?

Restaurants utilize their POS to manage menu items or products with multiple components, such as ingredients and add-ons, all in one solution. In most cases, you will have many variations of a single product. This is done mostly with items that are more customizable on the menu, such as pizza, burgers, bowls, sandwiches, and combo meals.

How the Item Builder In-Store POS System Works?

When the customer receives their order from the POS system, this will trigger an action that opens the Item Builder interface to select their modifiers or add-ons according to the customer's request.

For example, if a customer wants to place an order for a burger from their menu, the Item Builder will contain-
  • Type of bread
  • Cheese options
  • Extra Toppings
  • Cooking preference
  • Sides

After the customer has made their choice, the POS will calculate the price and send the order to the kitchen. It increases the accuracy of orders placed by customers and reduces the error of orders, and also reduces the time staff and customers spend while placing orders.
