What are Real-Time Reports?
Real-time reports deliver "live, on-the-minute" data from a restaurant POS system, showing owners exactly what is happening with the business at any given time. Managers no longer have to wait until the end of the day to get important sales and performance information, but can react in real-time.
How Do Real-Time Reports Work?
Each sale, whether a dine-in, an order placed through a phone, or online, or a payment, is tracked by the POS system and appears on reports instantly. Reports update within seconds and can be viewed on in-store POS terminals, on mobile devices (tablets), or remotely via the cloud.
More than simply the volume of sales, live reports in the U.S. restaurant environment typically detail metrics such as sales per hour, individual location performance (for multi-location franchisees), type of order (dine-in, delivery, carry-out), staff activity, and much more. Alarms or live reports can instantly show abnormal conditions such as a sudden decline in sales, higher than usual voids, or a lack of stock.
