How is Venue Mode used in the Restaurant Industry?
Venue mode is a POS setting ideal for venues that offer service over multiple areas. Bars, restaurants, and banquet halls can use venue mode to keep each part of their operation organized with a single POS system. This includes individual service areas, as well as extensive areas like outdoor patios, entire bars, stadiums, and banquets.
In normal settings, all orders appear in one single layout, which can cause confusion when dealing with larger areas. Venue mode is designed to alleviate this by dividing an entire venue into multiple sections, zones, and service points. This allows servers to flip between different sections with little disruption.
For example, the waiter assigned to the patio will only see patio tables and the bartender will see bar orders, while a manager views everything at once from one interface. The efficiency and accuracy can be greatly increased during peak times, and communication can become more cohesive.
Venue mode allows for various menus, prices, and workflows in each venue. A bar will have a menu distinct from the restaurant area, or an event room will be presented with a package pricing structure rather than a separate menu.
